AllPaws Do’s & Don’ts

We have successfully connected our users with thousands of shelters and rescues and more than 200,000 pets available for adoption, but in order to ensure that you have a safe, secure, and fun time on, please keep the "Do's and Don'ts" below in mind.

Searching for a Pet

  • Prepare a list of questions and make sure to bring up any concerns when contacting an organization or pet owner about an animal, just as you would if you were going directly to a shelter. We DO NOT conduct background checks on our users or on the animals posted on our site and therefore we cannot guarantee the quality, health, or suitability of the animals available through our Service.

  • Fill out your profile completely to best represent yourself and lifestyle so you can find the best possible pet for you.

  • Click “report user” or contact us if you come across an organization you believe to be associated with harmful behavior toward animals or if you believe an animal has been misrepresented on our Service.

  • Do not adopt an animal from and attempt to re-sell it on our Service – promotes adoption and rescue ONLY.

  • Do not give out any personal information or send money over the internet for your own safety and security. If you are asked to do either of these, please contact us immediately or click “report user” so we can investigate.

Posting a Pet for Adoption

  • Do not post pets for sale, pets bred specifically for breeding purposes/for-profit pet trade, or pets not permitted by law.

  • Do not pose as a shelter or rescue organization or fill out false information about an animal you are listing.

  • Fill out each pet profile completely in order to give the best representation as possible for each animal.

  • Choose a clear and up-to-date photo of the animal you are listing.

  • Spread the word about to help more pets find good homes!
