A Pet Adoption Match! Helen and Charlie!

Charlie

We love this story of Helen who used AllPaws to search for a pet to adopt. She ended up using AllPaws to adopt a dog! She used AllPaws to adopt a Shih Tzu named Charlie from Kentucky and she has given him a loving, forever home.

"Charlie, formally "Seth", was rescued from Leslie Co., Ky. where dogs are in a pen and dropped off at will and picked up at will. My understanding is that seven dogs were rescued from this facility.

While using AllPaws.com, I had seen the rescue Homeward Bound of London, Kentucky's photo of Seth, a 3 y.o. Shih Tzu whom I was interested in. While in Pet Smart at Hamburg about 3 weeks ago I saw Seth in person and thought I could foster him and see what my husband thought. They loaned me his crate and home we came. By the following Saturday I told my husband I would take Seth back and see if someone would adopt him. My husband said he thought it was too late. He was already attached to him! My husband had been resistant to having a dog feeling that it was too confining. Neither of us had ever had a dog that was crated.

Charlie was given his new name Charlie due to his front feet turning out like Charlie Chaplin!  He is the most personable 3 y.o. around and loves to be with his humans. Charlie barks to tell us to do what he would verbalize if he could. He loves his crate, walks on lead, is curious about his surroundings and is very affectionate and loving.

We have no history on Charlie but he is certainly a special little dog who is just full of personality. He likes a lot of attention which is good for retired humans and can be like having a 2 y.o. to care for; one who likes lots of hugs and to be held in your arms while you rub his belly and then he starts snoring!

All Paws consistently contacted me online, as did the other facilities, with photos and history of dogs that met my search criteria. I recommend AllPaws.com, as well as all the other rescue facilities who have such hardworking volunteers serving so tirelessly and sacrificially to place rescue animals with those willing to foster and with those wanting to adopt."

Awww…we love getting stories like this! At AllPaws, our mission is to help more pets get adopted so it makes us smile when we’re able to see a happy pet in its new forever home!
